My collection of toy cars really stems from a love of Mini’s, as in Morris & Austin Mini 850 and Cooper models. The Corgi Toys 226 in blue was one that I had as a kid and acquired a mint boxed example at a market circa 1985 which prompted me to acquire others and the rest, as they say, is history. My collection is now well in excess of 2,000 models including a range of Mini’s of all types. This gallery is based on the tags for the toy models of Morris and Mini across all the brands and items in my collection.
A French made Eligor 1965 Morris Mini 850. Probably produced in the 1980's.
A black Scalextric C7 Mini Cooper Rally with spot light and front driving lights.
This one is playworn but sits well with the other cars in this collection.
Apparently made in 5 colours of green, red, blue, yellow and white.
Embossed on the base plate is the information. Mini 1000, Made in Spain, with a model number 93.
Similar to a Scalextric model. It includes racing stickers. Model number 93 according to the base plate. My model has racing number 64 and Pirelli and Esso decals.
This one is probably a Galanite model from Sweden. The bracing in the casting is unusual but typical of the Galanite make.
The body mould includes solid cast windows and appropriate outline detail for the boot and lights. The only marking is 'Sweden' and where it should have Galanite, it is blank.
A close up of the yellow plastic wheels mounted to the axle with a machine turned end to the axle. The wheels have a tread like moulding to the inner and outer edges of the block style wheel with integral rim and tyre.
Another British TV show model from Dinky Toys. The Prisoner mini moke is in nice original condition.
The canopy and spare tyre including original sticker stripes. The body paint is good with minor play wear.
This is the front of the blue Neptune and white Shell Petrol give-aways from the mid to later 1960's. They are the same casting or moulding from Lincoln International.
Stylised as Graham Hills Mini Cooper, this version is battery operated and has a window style box.
The model is missing two small pieces from the bumper bars, a common moulding flaw issue. Otherwise it is in mint condition and has had minimal play wear.
There is also apparently a yellow version of this car which I am chasing to include in my collection.
The front of the box states "with photograph and signature" which are featured on the rear of the box.
Base plate view of the battery box and motor support. Different from the friction drive models.
There are two of these models in my collection. This unboxed model is missing some parts and decals but was the only example I had until 2014.
