The metal box is interesting. The Kelly Cap Guns are not common, and even cap guns are an issue for law enforcement. I’d be keen to understand if the box is just a container for it or something special that the gun came in from Pope when it was made.

2018/10/28 at 2:13 pmHello I just found a number of R & L funny animals and also Twinge, but unlike most of them he is a kelly green and not the lime or orange color I have found. Strange. They are so much fun.

2018/10/28 at 2:54 pmHi Eric
The colours can vary when the colour changes were made in the machines and result in odd colours that are a blend of the incoming and outgoing colours. It is also possible that the one you have is a later Mexico molding as they provided a number of colour variations not made by R&L.

2018/11/05 at 5:42 pmhi Tony, bought a small diecast fighter plane last weekend at the Canberra swap meet. It is about 55mm long and 87mm wingspan. The seller said it was made by an Australian firm under the guise of Victory Toys who issued these to raise funds for the war effort.
Under each wing is a symbol, large ‘V’ on top of small word “TOY”.
I’m sure I’ve seen something similar before, possibly in a museum. Have you come across anything like this or heard of V-TOYS?
I have pics i’d like to send but cannot upload them here.

I have a narrow sports car that was a present to me in late 1940s. It was a light green colour and I have painted in a darker green. It still has the Bakelite wheels and has Name Wanna and F.H.E. Underneath. Does it have any value? -

Hi, any advice on how to repair bent axles on Micro models? How are the axles held in the hubs and what do you do to remove them?
Cheers
Jim
Hi Jim
The Micro Models were mostly a pressure fit and rotating the hub on the axle while applying outward pressure is the method I use, although it can be a challenge. The risk is in how to leverage pressure on the rear of the hub without causing damage to the casting while getting the first hub off. The second can be done in a vice. Good luck !

I have found this australian site to be very useful,as it has vintage toys for sale, and sold toys displayed

I dont have any connection to peter the owner, and have bought items from him,and found him courteous and quick delivery

Hi Ray
Thanks for the link. Yes, I know Peter at Antique Toy World and recommend him to you for your collecting. Peter has a vast knowledge of toys in general and his Antique Toy World site is one I reference quite often.

Hi can you tell me why there is two greens for the match box singer van. Was one an earlier model? Thanks Cheryl.
Hi Cheryl
Yes that is the case. I cannot recall which green colour came first or second but there was a short production run in one colour or shade of green which makes it harder to find.
cheers
