As a kid I knew all about the English toy brands of Matchbox, Corgi and Dinky Toys. My earliest recollections of birthdays and Christmas always included a Matchbox toy, from Mum & Dad, my favourite uncle, or Santa(!).
Later, I graduated to Dinky and Corgi, and to a lesser extent Mattel Hotwheels in the late 1960’s. However, I was blissfully unaware of the Australian Made brands.
I started with a single page and a single photo gallery of Australian toys but have had to split this into more pages and galleries as my collection grows. The more Australian Made toys I find, the more I am surprised to find yet another obscure (at least to me) brand and range of toys in both diecast metal and plastic.
The following links split off into the various Australian made brands and product makers that I have identified to date.
- A Pope Product Diecast Toy
- Australian Micro Models
- Brentoy or Brentware Models
- Kookaburra Die-cast Model Cars
- Merry Toys
- Other Australian Toys
- Streamlux Toys
- Strong Product Toys
- Tuckerbox Series Toy Cars
- Weico Models
- Winna and Hardray Toys
