Australian Made Plastic Toys

I originally included these Australian Made plastic toys within my diecast toy pages but as my collection and information pages grow I have created this separate section for plastic toys.

Rosenhain & Lippman, commonly R&L produced millions of plastic cereal toys from the 1950’s to the 1980’s.   Thomas Hore Pty Ltd and Toltoys produced lots of plastic items, along with Marquis Toys, Fethalite and Lincoln International (New Zealand and Singapore).

I still keep the New Zealand brands within this section as many of the moulds used in New Zealand commenced as Australian models that were later hired or sold to New Zealand producers.

  • Ross Plastics
  • L & I Glenn Plastic Toys
  • Moldex Plastics
  • Marquis Plastic Toys

      Hi Raymond

I am only aware of the information from Craig Hall’s book, Breakfast Barons, Cereal Critters and the Rosenhain and Lipmann Legacy. Issued in 1958 it was referenced as a Colt Six-Shooter on the Kellogg Corn Flakes packet and it was only available as a ‘send-away’ item. You needed 3 tokens and there were only 2 on a King Size Corn Flakes box, so you (your Mum!) had to buy 2 boxes to get the tokens and then you needed to add 4/- shillings as the currency was then (the equivalent of 50cents for the decimal currency readers). The cereal box offered both the Colt Revolver and a Deputy Sheriffs star Badge to kids who joined the Kelloggs Wild West Club.

      cheers
      Tony
