Ford Toy Car Models

The vast array of Ford toy car models start with very early castings from Dinky through to the more recent models from Micro in New Zealand. These include Thunderbirds, Zephyrs, Falcons, Fairlane, and lots of others.

Early die-cast models were simple castings while more enhanced variants came with windows from the 1960’s and lots of other features. This gallery is a compilation of all the Ford models in my collection.

The box is not as nice as I would like with splits in two seams. Otherwise it is all very good.

A stylised 1957 Ford Ranchero which I previously thought was a Chevrolet El Camino utility tray or pickup. Similar in style to a Tomte Lardal model from Norway but cast differently.

The body is distorted but it is still an interesting contrast to the excellent Dinky Toys Chevrolet El Camino model.

Marked as Made in U.S.A with a number 6 or 9 depending on which way you read it. The yellow plastic wheels are thin and treadless.

A small scale Polythene Miniatures Ford Station Wagon. It would be about 1:87 rather than the 1:64 of the Matchbox model.

Identified on the box as just a Station Wagon, it is similar to the Matchbox Lesney 31a Ford model.

The view from underneath shows the brown paint of the roof on the inside as well. Although it appears that the brown may have been added in the moulding or while it was still hot, as it appears to be within the plastic rather than just applied to the surface.
