  • From Bruce Kerr on A Collector of Antique Toys

    Hi Tony,
Thanks for your web site I have found the information you have provided very useful. I stumbled here a while ago trying to hunt down info on weico, streamlux and micro models.
My query is, I recently picked up 2 old model cars on eBay with no identifying marks. (I think they might be slush mold?)Do you know of a site where I could up load photos of them to see if they could be identified.
I have no desire to sell them as they fit in nicely with my my other collectables. I’d just like to find out who made them etc.
    Many thanks Bruce

      Hi Bruce

I’ll send an email as well, but if you can send some photos I’ll at least have an idea of what they may be.

      cheers

    • From admin on L & I Glenn Plastic Toys Melbourne

      Hi Chris

Not as rare as we once thought ! From this listing in my website I am now aware of at least 6 others from feedback I have had.

There is no-one making parts for them, although I might have a look at doing so.

      cheers

    • From admin on Other Australian Toys

      Hi Ray

As far as I know all the Hardray models were marked, but then there is always something new to learn.

I think the castings were often shared around (hired out) and as a result some models have the original brand removed and new ones added.

Send some photos if you have time.

      cheers
      Tony

  • From Chris Benedict on Matchbox King Size

Hello, I was hoping that you might be able to help me with getting tractor treads. I have the Laing truck & trailer with the tractor (yellow) that goes with this model. What I’m needing is replacement tracts for the tractor. I’m not sure what size tracts go with this tractor. I have been looking on your site for a picture of this tractor but, have not found it. I have bought from your site before and you have always had the right item that I have needed to restore a model that I’m working on. For some reason I can’t figure out the tract size. There are still tractor treads on the dozer but, are very dry and are ready to break at anytime. Plus I’m now looking for another dozer for a Matchbox LAING tractor trailer. Most I have seen don’t have the tractor treads so, that’s where you come in, it’s most important that you can steer me to the right area of your replacement parts. Can you please HELP me.

    • From admin on Matchbox King Size

      Hi Chris

The Matchbox Kingsize Tracks are standard across all the Kingsize models.

You want either the Green Matchbox Kingsize Tracks or the Black Matchbox Kingsize Tracks.

      cheers
      Tony

  • From Peter on L & I Glenn Plastic Toys Melbourne

Hi, I have a L & I Glenn construction set, comprising of polystyrene sticks (of different lengths) and various wheels for connecting the sticks together. I have spent the last 40 years, working in the Moorabbin plant, that was originally built by L & I Glenn. We still have his photo somewhere here on site.

  • From Scott on Ross Plastics

We have two of these boats that my six year old son found at a market here in New Zealand. He uses them as bath toys. Yellow and bule as pictured and red and blue. They are proof that quality simple toys last.

    • From admin on Ross Plastics

      Hi Scott

Thanks for that info. It is great to know that they do last.

I’d be interested to add a photo of the model in red and blue just to contrast with mine.

      cheers
      Tony

  • From Davinia on Micro Models - Australia

I have a small diecast tractor, It looks like a Massey Harris 55 it has no makers name anywhere but I am certain its a Micromodel. Have done some research and can find no mention of a Massey Harris only the Furguson TE 20

    2016/09/24 at 11:23 am
    • From admin on Micro Models - Australia

      Hi Davinia

It could be one of many makers. Dinky Dublo, blue with grey wheels, Streamlux which will be imprinted around the centre hub of the rear wheel, in bare metal or plated finish, Master Models, or several of the early UK based casting companies.

I’ll be in touch via email if you want to send some photos.

      cheers
      Tony

      However,
