  • From Lou on TV Theme Vehicles

Have you considered repro parts for the 1/32 scale Polistil 1966 Batmobile. It’s a larger scale than the 1/43 Corgi, more like the Aurora or Simms, but Diecast like the Corgi.

    • From admin on TV Theme Vehicles

      Hi

I have not got a Polistil Batmobile to copy from but I would consider it.

Has anyone got a wreck that I can use?

      cheers

        Hi Johnny

Would love to help but I want one myself first.

Would you mind sharing a copy of your counter display?

      Hi Johnny

Are you after the Mini or the Cortina? Did they model the Mustang at all ? I am not sure.

Maybe someone can help me out with the Cortina.

So if someone is reading this and has a model of that one in storage please get in touch.

Johnny has the first option !

      cheers

  • From Cheryl Scott on Toy Talk

Hi can you tell me why there is two greens for the match box singer van. Was one an earlier model? Thanks Cheryl.

    2016/10/21 at 8:41 pm
    • From Tony on Toy Talk

      Hi Cheryl

Yes that is the case. I cannot recall which green colour came first or second but there was a short production run in one colour or shade of green which makes it harder to find.

      cheers

  • From Rick Olson on TV Theme Vehicles

I have purchased a 1966 Batmobile and I have been looking for a guide on how to do it. I have watched a few videos on you tube, read some articles etc……… By chance do you have a guide or can you geive me a web site I can go to. Also I will be restoring one in the near future and I will need say for instance tires, windshield, siren, missles and such oh and rivets. I see you say you have parts do you have these parts in stock and do you have like a bundle kit for a flat price like 1 windshield 6, missels, 2 tires 2 antennas , 6-8 rivets.

    Thanks for your time.

      Hi Rick

Please see my pages at RecoverToy on Corgi Batmobile restoration. I’ve got lots of pictures but need to add some more text.

The parts you need are also available from the store on that site. Use this link for a list of 267 Corgi Batmobile parts.

  • From John Barber on Micro Models New Zealand

    Hi Tony

Do the original 1950’s models have ” NEW LOOK ” included in the markings underneath ?
    – I’m looking for an easy way to distinguish original productions from later reproductions if possible – I see that you say the later ones have the ” MICRO MODELS ” embossed on the tyres which is helpful.

    Thanks ………..JB

      Hi John

Not as far as I know, but I have a lot more photos to publish and I’ll do a page with base plate comparisons that should assist.

  • From Ken Green on Other British Diecast

Tony, I have a model racing car (diecast) which I think is very old. The merry toy logo is on the underside of the car. If you could provide more info that would be good.

    2016/11/07 at 11:45 am
    • From Tony on Other British Diecast

      Hi Ken

Merry Toys were an Australian toy maker in the 1950’s / 1960’s

They made a small range including a jeep and a racing car which I expect is the model you are looking at.

They are not particularly rare but uncommon in good condition as they were usually ‘well-loved’ by the kids that owned them.

I do not have a racing car in my collection and if you decide to sell please get in touch.

      cheers

  • From Ian MUNRO, - Fire Services Museum of Victoria on Thomas Hore Toys

    Good Morning;

My name is Ian MUNRO, and i’m the researcher / archivist for the Fire Services Museum of Victoria, and we have received an inquiry from an overseas collector regardinga Fire Truck model produced by Thomas W Hore, Melbourne.

Our contact has no other details, but the photo he supplied indicates that it is based on the 1938 CVS Morris Commercial Hose Carriage, used by the MFB, in Melbourne from 1938 to the 1970’s.

Doing a “Google search” to try and answer this query, has led me to your website.

My main question is who was Thomas W Hore, and when / where did he operate, please ?

    Respectfully

    • From Tony on Thomas Hore Toys

      Hi Ian

It is my understanding that Thomas Hore produced items in plastic and probably die-cast in Melbourne in the 1950’s and these would have been marketed through John Brent (Brentoys) and possibly later with Alex Tolmer who was at Brents and then later formed Toltoys.

      cheers
      Tony
