Dinky Toys racing cars extend from the very early models around 1930 through to the 1970’s.
The Dinky Toys Dragster set model 370 was issued over a number of years and featured a range of colour combinations.
This orange and yellow combination appears to be an later issue as most of the early ones I have seen have a blue or white launch box.
The launcher for this dragster model is a sprung pin and latch system. Shown here in the uncompressed position ready to connect.
The launch mechanism is compressed and connected to the dragster. A simple release button on the spring loaded box would release the dragster to fly across the floor or table, probably breaking Mum's vase or similar!
One of two Dinky Toys Copper Racing Cars in my collection. This model number 240 is a light blue colour.

The underneath of the model shows the machined rivet heads that are original.
Another Dinky Toys 240 Cooper racing car. This one has a replacement engine cover that is pale compared to the darker blue of the body.
The racing stripes and racing number #20 are original on this model.
Featuring a driver and steering wheel, the Connaught Racing Car in mid-green colour is a commonly found Dinky Toys model.
The rear vertical fin of the Connaught was always eye-catching. Racing number #32 featured on all original models.
