I have a few of the Winna and Hardray Toys in my collection but have very little knowledge of the brands.
What I do know is that I have a model with Hardray embossed in the casting and others with Winna in the underside of the model. At least one of the Winna models also has the initials F.H.E embossed as well. I was informed that both Winna and Hardray are from the same Melbourne based manufacturer in the 1950’s, but beyond that I can only speculate that in ‘F.H.E’ the ‘F’ is an initial, ‘H’ is is Hardray, and the ‘E’ might be Engineering or Enterprises.
Some of the models have wheels that are similar to the early Brent Toy ‘Brentware’ castings, just not sure which came first, but the Winna’s appear to include both plastic and bakelite wheel variations.
If you have any information on Australian Made toys like the Winna or Hardray range I would appreciate hearing from you via the Tonys Toys Contact page.
