This model is so nice that I have dedicated a whole page and gallery to it. My ASC Aoshin Japan Tinplate Monkee Mobile is one I purchased in 2014 from a Melbourne dealer and the minute I saw it, it was sold.
The box is a bit rough with some minor sections of the cardboard outer missing, however the rest of the box is complete with the internal foam sections.
The model itself is mint. It looks like it was never played with. Too good, and probably too expensive at the time to be played with like a normal toy. It is fresh as the day it was made and I am not sure that it has ever had a battery fitted to make a noise. I have not done so for fear of scratching or damaging the battery section.
I don’t need to hear the music, I am happy enough looking at it and recalling the sounds from the Monkees TV show and all their hits of the era.
The ASC is Aoshin Shoten Co but the box only refers to Aoshin Co. Ltd. I am not sure why the difference in the name.
