Noddy and Big Ears by Morestone models

From my earliest childhood memories is Enid Blyton and Noddy stories.

In part that memory includes a train with Noddy and Big Ears by Morestone models.

In the past few weeks I’ve gathered them all up and taken some fresh pictures and added a new gallery featuring these models.

My recenMorestone Big Ears with his Bicyclet acquisition of the Big Ears bicycle from the UK triggered this process and I am pleased to include that model in my collection.

I am keen to find the boxes and gift sets that I missing to complete the group of models that make up this series from Morestone (Morris & Stone I think they were at one time).

Still seeking Noddys Garage Gift Set and the one with Mr Plod character. The boxes for the train and wagon would also be great to have.

Toy Collection Updates

Time flies when you are having fun. That means I must have been having fun since April when I last updated anything on this site!

Today, I managed to get a couple of hours to work on my toy collection updates and have updated all the thumbnail images to be 200 x 200 to provide a better layout in the toy gallery pages.

I added new pages for Winna and Hardray Toys and Strong Product Toys.

Cereal Toy or not

The question, is this a Cereal Toy or not?

It was in a small collection of cereal toys that I purchased recently and it appears to have been partnered with a Cowboy from the late 1950’s so the era is possibly correct, but it is not included in the list of Cowboy and Indian cereal toy series. It is nicely detailed on a small rectangular pedestal base or plinth. Blue flexible plastic or poly-something.

The indian brave with shield and dagger looks closer to the series mentioned in Craigs book, which is a polyethylene set of 10. This one is not in the items shown but the dagger and flat stylisation of the model has similarities. Refer Breakfast barons, Cereal critters and the Rosenhain & Lipmann Legacy page 199.

Australian Pope Industries Diecast Toys

The galleries and pages on Australian Toys have been updated today to cater for more items and information as I learn about the diecast and plastic toys made in this country post World War 2 and before it all went pear-shaped in the mid to late 1960’s and Australia stopped trying to compete with the overseas manufacturers.

Added Australian Pope Industries Diecast Toys pages and a gallery of 1 diecast toy car they made.

 

Blue Box Plastic Toys

Added a new gallery and some details on a retail counter display box of Blue Box Plastic Toys from the 1960’s. I’ve had this one for a while, purchased from the USA.

The outer box has been a bit water logged at some stage along with the contents of the box, but as that is only cardboard and plastic, there is not too much damage.

ASC Japan Monkee Mobile

Added my ASC Aoshin Japan tinplate Monkee Mobile to the site today.

There are a number of pictures of this 1960’s japanese creation. It was interesting that the made similar models to the Corgi Toys diecast models.

I might try to get the James Bond Aston Martin and a Batmobile one day if funds permit.

Cereal toy collection updates

The curating of my toys is taking more time than I ever planned for and I forget where I am up to. So I am starting to post my site updates into this list as much as anything for me to keep track of the changes.

Today was all about my cereal toy collection. I’ve recently acquired a large collection along with several other smaller purchases and I need to sort them out. My display cabinets are taking shape and I now have space to display the cereal toys that have been boxed for years.
