Walking Farmyard

The Walking Farmyard was issued in several years and in different combinations. The Tractor and Hay Trailer from the 1964 set are the rare items to find. Another R&L cereal toy set, this one also appeared at various times in countries including Ireland, Japan, Holland and Austria.

Neddy the Horse was the first issue in 1962 just by himself, and then later in 1969 as a part of a re-issued set. I’d note that Craig’s book is a bit ambiguous as he mentions that Neddy was not part of the 1964 series, but then annotates the comparison picture as 1962 vs 1964 which I think is a typo.

My collection of these models all appear to be a mix of 1964 and 1969 series. The Neddy’s are all 1969 as they have the extra locating pins in the body. The other models were all acquired from the one collection and based on the memories of the previous owner, they were all pre 1970.

I have included a few of the models in this series that I have that are missing parts. I am always interested in buying complete kits, parts of models, and your old kitchen drawer of cereal toys. (Was your kitchen drawer the 3rd one down? You know the one with everything in it that did not belong somewhere else.)

Neddy Walking Horse - Red A 1969 issue but the same as the original from 1962. The first walking type cereal toy. This one includes the original owners string and buttons as well as the Sheriffs badge weight.
Daisy, the Walking Cow Walking Farmyard, possibly 1964 or 1969 issues. I got these along with others in this set from someone who would have collected them in the 1960's. I doubt that they are a later issue series, but there is apparently no way of telling the earlier from the later issues.
Daisy, the Walking Cow My grey Daisy has her bucket weight with its handle, while the other two buckets are missing the handle. The inside base of the bucket reads 'Daisy' just in case we needed to check!

Fido, the Walking Dog Fido's water or food bowl has his name on the inside bottom of the bowl. Olive on the left, yellow, then Grey on the right.
Neddy Walking Horse A group of 4 different colours, yellow, light blue, red, and blue. Each is complete with it's original Sheriff badge counter-weight.
NeddyWalkingHorse-Group-2 There are two red Neddy's in my collection. If you have a colour I don't have and would like to swap colours, get in touch.

Mrs Quack, walking duck and ducklings -Blue Another of the 1964 issue models, Mrs. Quack and her ducklings, including the oversized (out of proportion) egg counter-weight.
Mrs Quack - Bagged on Sprue A factory fresh sealed kit of Mrs Quack Walking Farmyard model. This one is in its bag and intact on the moulding sprue.
Neddy - Bagged on Sprue A factory fresh sealed kit of Neddy the Horse Walking Farmyard model. This one is in its bag and intact on the moulding sprue.

Neddy - Sprue This one is out of its bag and intact in the casting except for one half of the body. The rest is still joined to the badge weight. Would like to swap for a complete Neddy in a colour I don't have.
Broken - Daisy This one is missing one green leg and a green bucket to make it complete. If you have parts please get in touch.
Broken - Hay Trailer This one and the tractor are the rare ones only issued in 1964. My hay trailer is missing the front tow hitch axle assembly and wheels.

Broken - Hay Trailer I am always interested in getting parts, not just complete cereal toy models, and may eventually match this trailer to an axle assembly.
Broken - Tractor My only tractor and it is missing 50% of its parts. I'll get a complete one sometime.
Broken - Farmer Fred This one is a 1964 issue but in pieces. It is complete and one day I might attack it with super glue and make it presentable.

Broken - Farmer Fred This one is a 1964 issue but in pieces. It is complete and only requires one internal leg pin to make it work. I do however, need the counter weight bag or sack to go with it.
