I have a few of the Winna and Hardray Toys in my collection but have very little knowledge of the brands.
What I do know is that I have a model with Hardray embossed in the casting and others with Winna in the underside of the model. At least one of the Winna models also has the initials F.H.E embossed as well. I was informed that both Winna and Hardray are from the same Melbourne based manufacturer in the 1950’s, but beyond that I can only speculate that in ‘F.H.E’ the ‘F’ is an initial, ‘H’ is is Hardray, and the ‘E’ might be Engineering or Enterprises.
Some of the models have wheels that are similar to the early Brent Toy ‘Brentware’ castings, just not sure which came first, but the Winna’s appear to include both plastic and bakelite wheel variations.
If you have any information on Australian Made toys like the Winna or Hardray range I would appreciate hearing from you via the Tonys Toys Contact page.

I have a narrow sports car that was a present to me in late 1940s. It was a light green colour and I have painted in a darker green. It still has the Bakelite wheels and has Name Wanna and F.H.E. Underneath. Does it have any value?
Hi Ron
That will be a ‘Winna’ Toy from Australia and yes it has value depending on condition.
cheers

Hello. My name is Leigh and I am a member of the Stratford historical society.
Someone has just given the society one of these Winna roadsters that was recently found under an old house here in town. The body of the car is complete and it still has the yellow paint in reasonable condition but we only have half of one wheel. The society members were interested it this old toy car and its possible history. Thank you for the available information that I can pass on to those members.
Hi Leigh
Yes it is a Winna model. It is Australian made and circa 1950. The models were originally bakelite and later diecast castings. Wheels were also of bakelite and then plastic. If it is diecast with plastic wheels then I’d suggest it is mid to late 1950’s. The Winna models had no baseplate and the axles / wheels were attached via cast axles holes in the sides of the main body.
